Study facilities
The library can seat 80 students.

A viewing facility for VHS/DVD-material is available.

Collection

As we speak the library can offer 18.000 volumes (monographs and reference works) in the three subject fields. These publications are historical as well as theoretical. We also have biographies on writers, actors and directors, as well as reviews.
Manuscripts are not available. Both plays and screenplays have a lower priority when works are acquired. Dutch translations can be found in scripts used by theatre companies.

The library also subscribes to a number of specialist journals, assorted slides and a substantial amount of recorded plays (on L.P.).

UvA’s online catalogue shows the collection by author and/or title, when at least the acquisition date is after 1980. Parts of it are listed under headwords in the online catalogue.
The remainder can be found in our card catalogue, which is also reference-based.
