  1. Coats and bags are to be left in a locker at the entrance of the library. You need a 2 Euro coin or a special coin which can also be used for the lockers in the PC Hoofthuis or Bungehuis.
  2. In the library you can not eat or drink. The use of sealable water bottles is permitted.
  3. Mobile phoning is not permitted in the library.

Collection, catalogue and shelving

The library contains the collections for Art History and Cultural Studies. The material of these collections is largely placed on open shelves. You will find the location in the Catalogue of the UvA preceded by the number of the library (Art History = 128, Cultural Studies = 311). On bulletin boards you can find lists with the explanation and location of the main sections of both libraries.

Rare, expensive and fragile publications are placed in the closed stacks of the Art History library. You have to request the library staff to see these publications.  Material from this depot can only be copied after consulting the library staff.
