Study centres: work spaces with PC

PC work spaces

There are seven libraries with computer facilities, so-called Study Centres. Here you can work with Internet, Microsoft Office, SPSS, etc. These work spaces are available to all UvA students. Just log in with your UvAnetID.

15 minuten PCs

In most study centres there are a few so-called 15 minute PCs. They are meant for quick use only. After 15 minutes the user is automatically logged out, and it is impossible to log in again immediately. If you wish to continue working after 15 minutes, please move to an ordinary work space.

Support

All study centres have an information desk in case you have any questions about the PC work spaces or any other ICT services of UvA. Or send an e-mail to helpdesk@student.uva.nl or call 020-525 5500.

Breaks

If you leave your computer unattended for more than twenty minutes, it becomes available to another user. After 20 minutes inactivity it is locked with a screen saver. Study Centre staff can then log you out, so that the first person waiting can log in. Your personal belongings will be taken to the desk, where you can collect them.

Password

If you have forgotten your password, you can get a new one at the desk, on showing a valid student card and ID.
