Library services
The Multimedia Centre seats 100 ( 42 of which are in a closed, quiet hall, 40 places have facilities for PC's).
There are video machines available, and facilities for either copying or printing. There is always staff of the Multimedia Center present to help visitors in finding information. They can also help you to get information from elsewhere (ILL).
Membership
Membership is free for students and staff of ACTA . In order to borrow and request titles from the catalogue, a UvA library card is needed. ACTA students and ACTA staff can request a library card in the Multimedia Centre and collect it the week after. Students and staff of other Dutch universities are also entitled to a free library card, but must get one from the University Library at Singel 425. Users who have no affiliation with a Dutch library can buy a library card there.
Membership of the Multimedia Centre gives access to almost all off the available information sources in the Multimedia Centre. Loan periods can be extended twice via the online catalogue. Loans from the curriculum collection can be extended at ACTA's Multimedia Center desk. Journals, videotapes and reference works can not be borrowed.

Collection
The Multimedia Centre has a specialized collection to support research and teaching at ACTA. There are ca. 5000 books, ca. 5500 journal volumes (135 current subscriptions), bibliographies, reference works, dissertations, cd-roms and online databases. The Multimedia Centre has a collection of videotapes ca. 80 titles) which can be watched in the Multimedia Centre.
